It doesn't seem fair that the world is this colourful when my life is so drab. Fortunately Nature doesn't really care how you feel... Took this at my bro's place...It's a Gulmohar tree.
That s not gulmohor.. and thts not flame of the jungle either.. ‘flame of the jungle’ is a very tall tree with chalice shaped big red flowers.. I don’t know the name of this flower but it s surely neither of the two..
and I m sorry to be sounding like an annoyingly steadfast botany school teacher !! :D
It's 'artistic license', okay? Seriously though, that's actually a hybrid sapling that we've planted in our garden. It's a strain of Royal Poinciana a.k.a Gulmohar, Peacock Flower, Flame of the Forest, and the Flame Tree from the Family: Fabaceae (Subfamily: Caesalpinioideae)
It comes from a sub-family and might have a different local name but the genus is essentially the same. Look carefully at the colour of the leaves and you'll see why it's called 'a flame'.
