The flame of the forest

It doesn't seem fair that the world is this colourful when my life is so drab.
Fortunately Nature doesn't really care how you feel...
Took this at my bro's place...It's a Gulmohar tree.

That s not gulmohor.. and thts not flame of the jungle either.. ‘flame of the jungle’ is a very tall tree with chalice shaped big red flowers..
I don’t know the name of this flower but it s surely neither of the two..

and I m sorry to be sounding like an annoyingly steadfast botany school teacher !! :D

It's 'artistic license', okay?
Seriously though, that's actually a hybrid sapling that we've planted in our garden. It's a strain of Royal Poinciana a.k.a Gulmohar, Peacock Flower, Flame of the Forest, and the Flame Tree from the Family: Fabaceae (Subfamily: Caesalpinioideae)

It comes from a sub-family and might have a different local name but the genus is essentially the same. Look carefully at the colour of the leaves and you'll see why it's called 'a flame'.
